Sweden highlights: scenic, outdoorsy, stylish
Sweden is best appreciated outdoors. Whether you want to kayak Stockholm’s archipelago, enjoy hiking in the countryside or cycle through undiscovered woodland, you’ll find that Sweden will reawaken your sense of adventure.
And that’s before you even set foot in one of its achingly cool cities. Stockholm is world-renowned for its minimalist, functional designs and sprawling archipelago. Each of its separate neighbourhoods has a distinct character, and we give you the opportunity to explore them all on your Sweden cruise. Don’t miss Gamla Stan, the Old Town, where the fairy-tale of Stockholm re-asserts itself, with its quaint buildings, winding streets and charming places to grab a coffee or lunch.
Onshore excursions include the Archipelago Adventure boat tour and Vasa museum, the Old Town and Ice Bar. We also call in at Helsingborg, which is just 4km from Denmark across the strait that separates the two countries.
Weather & what to pack
Despite its northerly position, Sweden enjoys a relatively mild climate, thanks to the Gulf Stream. As a result you won’t find extreme temperatures or humidity here. Make sure to pack layers, a winter coat and a woollen jumper for the colder months, and light summer shorts and dresses for the summer.
