Outdoorsy, cultural, cosy.

Amsterdam is one of the best cities in the world to explore by bicycle. Its dedicated lanes and flat landscape mean that cycling is safe and easy. Exploring the city the “Dutch way” is the perfect opportunity to stretch your sea legs during your Amsterdam cruise!

If you love the arts, you’re spoilt for choice in Amsterdam. There’s an iconic museum or gallery in every direction – including the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum, which counts Rembrandts and Vermeers among its many masterpieces.

“Gezellig” is a famous Dutch quality meaning cosiness, and Amsterdam has it in abundance. It’s hard to pinpoint, but if you find yourself in one of Amsterdam’s renowned “brown cafes” (named so due to their distinctive all wooden décor), savouring a beer in soft candlelight – you’re pretty close.

Weather & what to pack

Amsterdam enjoys a mild climate, with the hottest month being July and the coolest, January. “National Tulip Day” also takes place in January, when you can pick a tulip for free from a dedicated garden. Spring is beautiful in Amsterdam, and the famous Tulip Festival takes place in April. If you visit during the winter, remember layers and a hat, whereas in summer light, loose clothing will keep you cool. You’ll appreciate comfortable shoes for your exploring!
