Mexico highlights: sizzling, unexpected, idyllic

Many are familiar with Mexico's party reputation, but fewer acknowledge it for its outstanding natural beauty. In the heart of the country are towering snow-capped volcanoes, vast, unspoiled jungles, and scorching deserts. Around the coast, white sandy beaches and natural lagoons create an idyllic scene.

We don’t think anyone should leave Mexico without sampling the local fare. Food is close to the heart of the Mexican people, and this passion is evident in every bite. Whether you’re in Cozumel or Ensenada, treat your palette to some flavourful, spicy and aromatic traditional Mexican cuisine. Your Mexico cruise offers everything from ocean jet-skiing and cocktails in fun-loving Cabo San Lucas to the elegant charm of Cozumel town square. Or why not take a shore excursion to the world-famous Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza? Home to both ancient temples and some of the world’s liveliest cities, we think Mexico will live up to your every expectation. Hop onboard, relax, and get ready for the fiesta.

Weather & what to pack

Although the temperature varies from place to place, it’s safe to say that, mostly, Mexico is hot, hot, hot. The cities swelter in summer temperatures well over 30 degrees Celsius. The dry season lasts from October to April, while the wet season stretches from May to September. Keep the unforgiving sun in mind when you pack for your Mexico cruise. You’ll need plenty of suncream, light layers, a hat and some bug spray to keep any pesky critters at bay.
