The port town of Ocho Rios lies on the north coast of Jamaica. It’s grown significantly since its humble beginnings as a fishing village, with its thriving nightlife scene, ever-growing menu of restaurants and diverse range of activities such as ziplining and scuba diving. One of the town’s most impressive draws, however, are its natural wonders. On Ocho Rios cruises, start at Dunn’s River Falls, which are just 3km away from the centre of town. These iconic falls tumble fiercely from a height of 180m, and there’s plenty to explore, like cold water pools (perfect for cooling off from the Jamaican sun) and shady rainforest. The Irie Blue Hole is equally unmissable – and a little more undiscovered. Cool off in the deep pools beneath the waterfall, or get your adrenaline thumping by swinging in via rope. Back in town, you’ll find the 2.7m-high Bob Marley statue, which was commissioned in 1981. It’s in the Island Village, a sprawling shopping plaza which is also home to plenty of shops and places to eat. If you’re tired out after all of that exploring, it’s time to head to the beach. Ocho Rios Beach is one of the most popular, and comprises both Turtle Bay Ocho Rios Bay.
