It’s that time of year again: wedding season. If you’re one of the loved-up couples tying the knot this year, congratulations! There’s only one thing as exciting as your wedding day – your honeymoon. And what better destination to start married life than in the tropical climes of the Caribbean? To give you some inspiration, here are some of our favourite Caribbean destinations for your honeymoon, whether you’re a sun-worshipper or thrill-seeker.

1. Most Up and Coming: Puerto Rico

If you’re looking for something a little bit different on your Caribbean honeymoon – but still want the guarantee of plenty of sun, sand and sea – Puerto Rico is the destination for you.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico rumbles to a laid-back rhythm that’s laced with Latin American influences. Its irrepressible charm lies mainly outside of its main cities; think beer served by the roadside, secluded beaches and atmospheric, hidden waterways. It’s also a haven for coffee lovers – during your trip, you’ll have the opportunity to visit mountainside coffee plantations – at the Hacienda Buena Vista, you can visit a mill that’s been restored from the 19th century and is powered by a waterfall.

Other unique opportunities to experience in this up-and-coming destination include trekking through the Guanica Dry Forest, home to a number of rare bird species.

2. Most Romantic: Antigua

For the ultimate romantic honeymoon, it could only be Antigua. This former capital is home to atmospheric streets lined with colourful houses, as well as three formidable volcanoes. Natural beauty combined with a fascinating culture and rich history ensure that while there’s plenty to see and do, you’ll also find an idyllic escape from the pressures of everyday life.

St. John's, Antigua

During your visit, immerse yourself in the rum culture of Antigua by visiting the Backyard Rum shop, or enjoy a fresh lobster lunch on one of the island’s many white sand beaches. If you want to up the romance factor even further, join us on a catamaran cruise around the bay, or for a horseback ride along the beach. Happy honeymoon.

3. Most Secluded: Saint Lucia

Fancy having the beach to yourself? Saint Lucia is the place to be. As well as its instantly recognisable mountain range, the Pitons, this island is well-known for its verdant rainforests and lush interior.

Castries, Saint Lucia

To discover truly secluded areas, join us for a shore excursion in which we can take you exploring on the quieter, less-travelled west coast of the island.

You’ll lounge on near-empty beaches and recharge at a luxurious spa (what better way to spend your honeymoon?) Of, if you’re feeling adventurous, why not try take a soaring journey over some of Saint Lucia’s rainforest on an aerial tram, or visit the Diamond Estate, where you can soak in natural mineral baths with breath-taking views of Diamond Falls? Surrounded only by emerald forests and the sounds of nature, you’ll feel as though you have the place to yourselves.

4. Best for Adventure: Dominican Republic

For those who’d like to add a little adrenaline-fuelled adventure to their daily sunbathing schedule, the Dominican Republic is a great option. It’s a patchwork of geographic features, from mountains and rainforests to barren deserts. As a result, there are plenty of fun-filled activities to try, such as snorkelling, diving and zip-lining, ensuring a honeymoon you’re unlikely to forget in a hurry.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

From your base in the capital of Punta Cana, you’ll be ideally positioned to explore some of the island’s most famous and picture perfect beaches. For those envy-inducing social media shots, head to Jaunillo Beach with its swaying palms and aquamarine water.

5. Best for Nightlife: Aruba

For those seeking a lively destination for their honeymoon, Aruba is a great option. A small Dutch island not far from the coast of Venezuela, Aruba is also known for its spectacular beaches and ever-sunny climate.

Eagle Beach, Aruba

As well as enjoying the diverse menu of beach bars, cafes and restaurant that the capital of Oranjestad has to offer, there’s plenty else to do besides. Two of its most famous beaches, Eagle Beach and Palm Beach (both close to where we make port in Oranjestad) offer opportunities for swimming and snorkelling. Plus, there’s no better way to end a day than with a sunset cocktail catamaran cruise with us.
